Essential Oils: Four Thieves Blend

Winter in the midwest is a time where close contact with people drastically increases- it’s so cold outside that no one wants to leave the heat!  Winter is also cough and cold season, so this month’s Essential Oil highlight is the Four Thieves blend.

Four Thieves Blend is an amazing essential oil blend with a strong history- it gets its name from a tale about four former spice traders who lost their business as plague spread throughout medieval Europe. Poverty stricken, they turned to looting and stealing from the dead in order to make ends meet. The four thieves were doing so well that their prosperity was brought to the attention of the local king, who captured them and demanded their secret recipe for not catching the illness that had been so fatal. The four thieves blend is the blend of essential oils created as an antiviral against the plague.
