Fall is

that “in between ” season where we mourn the warm balmy days of Summer, yet are excited about the change in the air , the beautiful clothes the trees adorn themselves with, and the smell and crunch of falling leaves beneath our feet. Nature begins to go into its hibernation for the upcoming colder months. The birds change their plumage, the flowers have now become seed heads.
TIP: While finishing yard cleanup, you can help nature and wildlife by leaving dead seedheads on flowers for
the birds to feast on during the winter. And
rake your leaves under shrubs to act as
mulch. They’ll harbor insects for ground dwelling
birds to eat. And, come spring,
those dead leaves, grasses and plant stems
will be a treasure trove for birds searching for
nest material.

Sage Honey
A Remedy you can make yourself for Cold and Flu Season!

A spoonful of this in hot water will soothe sore throats, quell coughs, and conquer colds.
This is a Honey Infusion, combining the properties of Honey and those of Sage. This is an “extra” recipe that can be put together just in time to have it ready for cold and flu season. It’s even better if made with your own home-grown Sage, but don’t let that stop you from trying this quick easy recipe. Procure some from a friend or buy some in your local store. You will want to have this ready for your cold-season medicine chest. Use local pure raw honey for the best home-made remedy!
